Description
Vision is one of the five senses and valued because it is a way people gather important information from their environment. When people have a problem with their vision, unsurprisingly they seek medical attention quickly. Furthermore, the eyes are very sensitive, and when an eye is irritated or injured, it’s hard to focus on anything else!
Learning Objectives:
- Identify common presenting ophthalmic conditions
- Know historical features, risk factors and symptoms for conditions relating to the eye
- Describe common eye and sight disorders
- Know how to document the HPI and examination of the eye
- Understand the tests, procedures and treatments for common eye conditions
- Identify medications commonly prescribed for eye conditions
- Write medical charts for a variety of ophthalmic conditions and injuries
